Marion General Hospital Volunteer Opportunities

We are extremely proud of our hospital volunteers, an extraordinary group of people who willingly share their time, talents, and inspiration for the betterment of the community, patients and staff. Hospital Volunteer Opportunities
Opportunities for our adult volunteers include, but are not limited to:
- Patient Rounding: Delivering mail, comfort items and flowers to patients with a smile.
- Surgery waiting room: Acting as a liaison between patient families and surgery staff.
- Gift shops: Retail support serving visitors.
- ED Guest Liaison: Rounding on guests as they accompany patients for care.
TWIG Organizations
You also may choose to become members of individual Together WE Inspire Giving (TWIG) organizations. A TWIG is an organization that provides financial support to Marion General through fundraising activities. Our TWIG organizations include:
- TWIG I OhioHealthyKids Club
Coordinates efforts with community partners to help promote the OhioHealth mission with an emphasis on children's health issues in the Marion area. Fundraising efforts include uniform sales, private and corporate donations.
- TWIG II Newborn/Pediatrics
This group provides an important service by donating supplies to obstetrics, pediatrics, emergency department imaging and others. They purchase and distribute toys to our youngest patients; provide Memory Boxes for mothers who have suffered the loss of a newborn and more.
- TWIG III Gift Shop
The funds raised through the operation of the hospital Gift Shop are used to purchase equipment and provide support for services and programs with an emphasis on cancer care.
- TWIG V
This group supports the hospital through a semi-annual book sale and gift card sale. Their generous donations help to provide support for various hospital functions, including our Forensic Nurse Team, and providing flowers for the LPN and paramedic graduates at Tri-Rivers Vocational School.
- TWIG VI Garden Club
This group's primary function is to provide and maintain the beautiful rose beds that surround the hospital. Funds are raised through the coordination of flower sales each year.
- TWIG VII Marion Area Auxiliary
This volunteer group operates the gift shop on the OhioHealth Marion Medical Campus.. Their main focus is cardiac and pulmonary services and physical therapy, but they also provide funds in other areas as identified.
