Laborist Program

At Pickerington Methodist, we know how important it is to have expert care close to home — especially when you’re expecting. That’s why we provide you with a laborist for 24/7 pregnancy care.

What is a laborist?

A laborist, also known as an OB hospitalist, is an obstetrician (OB-GYN) who specializes in managing the needs of pregnant women. You will have a team of OBGYN physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives.

What does this mean for you?

You can take comfort knowing the hospital is staffed around-the-clock by a team of experienced laborists. If an obstetrician is unavailable, a laborist can provide immediate care and tend to your urgent needs.

We’re committed to keeping care local for residents in Pickerington and its surrounding areas. Laborists help us do this by assuming labor, delivery and inpatient postpartum care for our physician partners. Working together, these specialists ensure every patient receives the care and experience they deserve.
