Additional Program Information

AMBULATORY CLINIC

As a resident, you’ll train in our dedicated, recently renovated, freestanding ambulatory clinic located on campus. The clinic features seven fully equipped patient examination rooms, designed to support the half-day continuity clinics required by the ACGME throughout your three-year residency. You’ll care for a diverse patient population, giving you exposure to a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and medical complexities—an ideal environment for developing strong clinical and diagnostic skills.

A typical day in our clinic includes seeing your own panel of patients under the supervision of board-certified attending physicians. You’ll also participate in a longitudinal lecture series focused on high-yield outpatient topics and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with a range of healthcare professionals. This structure supports both your clinical development and your ability to provide comprehensive, team-based care.

In addition to the exam rooms, the clinic includes two procedure rooms—one of which is dedicated to osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), supporting hands-on training for our DO residents and interested MDs. We also offer in-office diabetic retinopathy screening, allowing residents to gain experience with preventive care technology. On-site access to social work, behavioral health, addiction medicine, and eating disorder counseling ensures that you’ll train in a truly integrated care setting, learning how to address the full spectrum of patients’ physical and mental health needs.

ONSITE FELLOWSHIPS

At Doctors Hospital, our residency program is uniquely enriched by the presence of both Cardiology and Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship programs. This collaborative environment offers residents early and consistent exposure to subspecialty training, fostering both professional growth and mentorship.

Our residents work closely alongside fellows, gaining hands-on experience and insights that go beyond standard residency training. Specialty fellows and faculty lead a longitudinal curriculum that deepens clinical knowledge and builds strong foundations for those considering future fellowship opportunities.

Additionally, residents have the opportunity to actively participate in ongoing research and scholarly activity within these fellowships—enhancing their academic portfolio and clinical expertise.

Whether you’re planning to pursue fellowship training or seeking a well-rounded residency experience, Doctors Hospital offers a dynamic, supportive, and forward-thinking environment designed to help you thrive.
