When You’re Admitted
At OhioHealth Grant Medical Center Ann Burba Crane Center for Women and Babies, you will be given a comfortable, private, home-like birthing suite that features innovative technology. We provide natural birthing options, including birthing balls and sleeping accommodations for your partner. Here, you will labor, deliver and recover.
During labor and delivery, two support people are allowed to be with you. You may also have a Doula join you during labor and delivery. They must bring their credentials when they arrive on the unit.
After delivery, you will be moved to a private room on the Women and Newborn unit that includes comfortable sleeping accommodations for you and your partner, a private bathroom and shower, adjustable lighting, telephone, television and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Meeting Your Baby
After a normal delivery, we encourage you to keep your baby with you in your room as much as possible to begin the natural bonding process. If you require rest or additional medical care, your baby may be cared for in the nursery near the post-partum room.
Visitor Policy
Maternity patients may have two designated support persons and visitors during general visitation hours.
- One of the support persons may stay overnight.
- Doulas are permitted in addition to the two designated support persons.
- If the patient is a minor, they may have both parents or guardians in addition to the other parent of the baby, with one allowed to stay overnight.
- Neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) will follow Nationwide Children’s Hospital visitor management policy.
- Maternity general visitation will be from 10 AM to 8 PM for adults and siblings. Only designated visitors, siblings and two adult visitors are allowed in the room at one time.
